That smile could be the undoing of him and Jesper wants to see him smile again and again.

"Right here. We should do something very filthy on this couch so I can appreciate it whenever I lounge."

Kaz raises his eyebrow, just a little, his mouth quirking with humour.

"What's your definition of filthy, Jes?"

Jesper laughs and doesn't quite answer, more interested in playing with the buttons of Kaz's shirt. His own tastes might be too messy for someone like Kaz.

"Bend you over the arm of the sofa and have you," he suggests. "And whenever you sit here, you'll remember exactly why there are little snags in the fabric at the width of your fingers."

Smirking a little, Kaz tilts his head. He nods.

"Sounds like something I might be persuaded into. What else?"

He smiles then, a little more closed lipped as he leans back and looks Kaz in the eye. "Why would I give away all my thoughts, Kaz? I'm a better bluff than that."

He's not.

"No," says Kaz, "You're not." He lies back a little against the arm of the sofa, unconsciously presenting himself. "And maybe I like hearing it?"

Jesper tries to tell himself not to open his mouth and ruin a good thing but Kaz is laying there like something to eat up. "I'd want to be in your mouth," he says. "To come that way. In your mouth or...on your face. Your neck. Kissing up the taste of it after." It's hard to imagine Kaz finding that anything but distasteful.

That gives Kaz pause for a moment. He hates being sticky, hates the feel of it against his skin. He's not sure how he'd cope with that - he's not sure whether it would be a step too far.

"We could try it," he says, a little wary, but not looking away. "I trust you." He means it.

Well, Kaz had asked and had expected honesty. Jesper shrugs, noting the hesitation. "There's no reason that we have to try it now." Or at all. "We could make an arrangement of this."

But saints, every time Kaz says he trusts Jesper, his heart warms a bit.

It makes a difference, he realises, that he's not quite drunk enough to be able to hide behind it. He looks up at Jesper, from his position half on his back.

"We could."

He's not sure what answer he'd expected but Kaz surprises him anyway. Jesper smiles and trails his fingertips along Kaz's side. "Someone has to keep you entertained."

"Saints only know what I'd do if I was left to my own devices," he says. A smile quirks the corner of his mouth. "Want to keep me occupied."

"You do get very devious," Jesper says, relieved that his honesty has been easily covered in a veneer of flirtation, easier for everyone.

He returns to toying with Kaz's shirt buttons. "You're a little overdressed for entertainment though."

"So do something about it," says Kaz, smirking. "Don't look at me." He isn't the one in charge here.

"Pushy." It's not as if he can really punish Kaz for anything, but he does leave a biting kiss on his throat, because he knows it left Kaz squirming before. It helps to balance the power.

"You wouldn't have me different," he says because, miraculously, that seems to be true. He whimpers at the bite to his throat, though, his body arching.

"I wouldn't know what to do," Jesper says, though his concession is slightly undermined by the way he bites Kaz's neck and then moves to undo the first two buttons. This gives Jesper just the right amount of room to nibble up a proper mark that Kaz can hide but still feel.

Kaz has been carrying around marks for years, but all of them are easily hidden by tailoring. Still, he likes that Jesper takes the time to mark him. He's not going to examine why too closely.

He likes to think of them as being saved, kept a secret for Kaz, though he knows that it's a bit wishful. His skin is so warm for someone who makes himself so frightening and cold and Jesper nuzzles into it as he undoes a further couple of buttons, kissing down along his chest.

Kaz finds himself quite content to lie there, subject to Jesper's ministrations. He lifts one hand, smoothing it over Jesper's hair, tracing the delicate curve of his ear with the pad of his thumb.

There's no hurry and Jesper decides to enjoy Kaz. His skin is so much softer than Jesper had expected and he thinks he can detect the scent of his soap, or maybe cologne. Whatever it is, Kaz smells good and Jesper wants to kiss over all of it.

Jesper kisses down his throat, his chest, and a heavy shiver goes through Kaz's whole body. He lifts his head, just so he can watch. Only inej has ever lavished attention and affection on him like his. Only she ever thought he deserved it.

He makes slow work of Kaz's shirt, torture for a man marked by his impatience but it's worth it for the way that Kaz goes tense under him. Smiling, he kisses just above Kaz's navel and finally tugs his shirt away, leaning back to observe him.

It feels like his skin is on fire, like every brush of Jesper's lips trails sparks. He leans up, shrugging out of his shirt, leaving himself stripped to the waist.

He flushes, uncharacteristically self-conscious.

"You like what you see?"

"Always," Jesper says. But especially now. It strikes him, again, how vulnerable Kaz is here. It shouldn't be endearing in the midst of what they're doing but it just makes Jesper want to kiss his mouth, faintly pouted.
